The Glasshouse Mountains

After two and a half weeks at Noosa Heads it was time to say good bye to Kay and Derek and continue our trek home. So on Wednesday the 27th July we left and stayed at the Beerwah Sports Ground. $20 a night for power and water was pretty good.

After setting up and having lunch we went a few kilometres down to the town of Glass House Mountains. Spoke to the guy at the information centre who was quite helpful. Then headed up to the main Scenic Lookout in the area.

Then went and climbed Mount Ngungun. It was 2.8km return and mostly straight up. So Linda did very well to make it to the top. Great 360 degree views at the top but the sun was not shining so that detracted a bit from the view but I guess it made the walking easier. Give me the sunshine I say.

Back to camp and we had a beautiful sunset although we did not have a view of the horizon. The colour in the clouds was great.
