On Monday the 13th June, after our amazing time
at Bowen River and Strathmore we headed off to stay in Bowen. It started
raining before we left Strathmore so the vehicles and vans copped a bit of mud.
We stayed at Tropical Beach Caravan Park.
Took a drive to lookout near the town.
Walked out on to the pier. A guy had caught a bottom feeding
shark. He had a huge tussle bringing it up to the surface. He got a photo and
cut it off. There was no way he was going to be able to land it.
The site at the pier was where they had filmed all the
Darwin footage in the movie ‘Australia’, with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.
